Monday Encouragement: If You Struggle with Self-Worth

Dear Friend: Do you find yourself struggling with your sense of self-worth today?

You might have had a rough weekend, or you might be generally going through a hard time.

You might feel like a failure, or like you are stuck. And you might be really struggling with a sense of your overall worth.

I write to remind you that you possess beautiful, wildly creative, even magical intrinsic worth that you have always had and that you can never lose, even when you make really big mistakes.

Your intrinsic worth is the power of love, which is your original self. It’s what is most real and is the source of every good thing in the world.

And your intrinsic worth implies these four truths about you: You are Worthy, Capable, Connected, and Called to Adventure.

These four truths above mean you can always begin again and live in a loving, creative, and meaningful way.

I love reminding myself of these things, and love reminding you of them, too.

Here’s a quote that relates to Original Love:

When I speak of love I am not speaking of some sentimental and weak response. I am speaking of that force which all of the great religions have seen as the supreme unifying principle of life. Love is somehow the key that unlocks the door which leads to ultimate reality.[1]
