I have an important blog update!
I have renamed my blog Resilient and More.
A Quick Story about My Blog
I have been blogging for close to ten years now, and it has been such a meaningful process full of growth and discovery.
Thank you to all of you who have read my posts and followed my blog over the years. I really appreciate you!
I originally called my blog Love is Stronger. That has been its name for the last almost-decade.
In graduate school, some of my research and personal experience made me especially interested in how authentic love can help people survive and thrive.
Thus, I titled my blog Love is Stronger.
If you look through my blog archive, you will find that many of my posts, in fact, are about love.
However, over the last eight years or so, I have increasingly become interested in a the concept of resilience.
Resilience is a character trait that all of us can cultivate that helps us bounce back from adversity. (You can read a discussion of resilience here: Resilience.)
And that’s good news because at one point in our life, all of us face obstacles, failures, disappointment and tragedy.
Such hardship can feel overwhelming. So, it is encouraging to know that we can practice certain thinking patterns and habits that cultivate resilience.

However, sometimes when we think about resilience, we think of it merely in terms of our ability to handle adversity.
And if we associate resilience merely with handling adversity, building resilience can sound like drudgery.
For instance, maybe it sounds like building resilience requires that we seek out hardship so we can practice gritting our teeth and bearing it.
But this view misses the true meaning of resilience. It misses the fact that cultivating resilience is, in fact, a magical and life-giving process.
Resilience begins long before adversity strikes.
It begins with understanding four basic truths about ourselves.
We are worthy.
We are capable.
We are connected.
We are called to adventure.
The more we understand these Four Basic Truths, the more we develop resilience and the ability to bounce back from adversity.
And we also cultivate so much more than resilience in the process. We develop confidence, joy, and other various human superpowers like love, courage, playfulness, and hope.
In addition, we cultivate the ability to Imagine and cultivate relationships, classrooms, communities, and even a world that is Resilient and More.
So, the more I have researched resilience, the more I realize that in writing about love on my blog, I have been actually writing a lot about resilience . . . and more.
So, I decided to change the name of my blog to Resilient and More.
But don’t worry!
If you have been following my blog for a while, you are going to notice that my blog will still focus on the topics I have always focused on.
Those are topics like authentic self-love, positive relationships, caring for the world, and occasional posts of pure whimsy and delight.
My new blog title Resilient and More doesn’t change the content of my blog.
It just gives it a little more focus and clarity.
I’m excited to keep blogging in 2025, and I am so glad you are here with me.
By the way, I have a free, short courses on the Four Basic Truths that you can take here: The Four Basic Truths
