Blueberry Nirvana: My New Smoothie

I would like to introduce you to my new smoothie: Blueberry Nirvana.

I drink smoothies for three main reasons:

One: They taste awesome.
Two: They make me feel awesome.
Three: They are so colorful, and the more color I add to my life, the happier I am.

I like making a big batch of smoothies in the blender and then storing them in the refrigerator in mason jars to add to breakfast (today I had oatmeal and a smoothie) or to have for a snack.

You can make fancy smoothies with all sorts of add-ins like cacao nib and spirulina. But for right now, I keep my smoothies pretty simple (who knows, I might get fancy later).

And speaking of simple, I would like to inroduce you to the very simple, totally amazing Blueberry Nirvana.

Here are the basic ingredients. (You can use whatever food brands you like. I have included pictures of the brands I use from my local Kroger).

1 cup of frozen mango (or a little more or less, dependening on your preference)

1 cup of frozen blueberries (or a little more or less, dependening on your preference)

1-2 frozen bananas
1 cup of vanilla soymilk. (Or whatever milk you like. I do find, though, that vanilla dairy substittues add something special to this smoothie).

1/2 to 1 cup of cold water to help achieve your desired smoothie consistency.
Juice of one lemon. (In my opinion, lemon juice is the magic ingredient in this smoothie).

Place all the ingredients in a smoothie and blend until desired smoothness.

Drink! (You can store the rest in jars in the refrigerator for later).

I hope your day is filled with joy and color and good food. Peace, Friend.

By the way, if you are interested in bright, colorful food (especially fruits and vegetables), I love Angela Liddon’s blog,Oh, She Glows, as well as Kathryne Taylor’s blog, Cookie and Kate.
