Politics and Love, Self-compassion

Is Love Enough?

There is Something Powerful About Love

The Beatles wrote “All You Need is Love.”

St. Augustine wroteLove God and do whatever you please.”

Jesus said, in Matthew 22:37 that the two greatest commands are “to love the Lord with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.”

Zen Buddhist Monk Thich Nhat Hanh writes, “Every movement, every glance, every thought, and every word can be infused with Love.”

Wonder Woman said, “It’s not about deserve. It’s about what you believe, and I believe in love.”

There is something about love. Love is powerful. It is healing. It is reconciling. It is strong. It is wise.

But is love enough?

We often think that wealth and fame are enough, but they are never enough.

We often think that violence and war are enough, but they are never enough.

We often think that winning and dominating are enough, but they are never enough.

We often think control and force are enough, but they are never enough.

But Love is always enough.

Love is the power that recognizes and honors the Light in ourselves and everyone else, and Love consistently nurtures this Light in all areas of our life.

Love heals anger, bitterness and rage.

Love cultivates compassion, healing, wisdom, and creativity.

Love leads us to the truth.

This is why, whenever I face a problem, I ask myself these questions:

  1. How can I Love myself and others more in this situation?
  2. What wisdom does Love bring to this situation?
  3. What is the Loving response?

Love is always the gentle and right path.
