Peaceful Thoughts for Rough Days

Here are some peaceful thoughts to remember the next time you are having a rough day, whether that day is today or in the future.

We all have rough days in which we feel sad, disappointed, or insecure about ourselves. Experiencing such days can make us feel bad about ourselves. For example, we might feel like such feelings indicate that we are weak or a failure in some ways.

Unfortunately, this is a message that some people communicate to others regularly. For example, you might have received these erroneous messages from people before:

Only weak people cry or feel sad.

There are people who have it much worse than you do, so feeling sad about mundane problems is selfish.

Successful people feel “up” and happy all the time.

If you are negatively, you will automatically attract negative things into your life.

Only optimists win!

These messages are all common, but they are based on incorrect beliefs about human nature.

For example the willingness to cry and experience your emotions is a sign that you are able to be vulnerable and connect with your emotions. Such an ability can be a great source of strength. You can read more about this here:

Or as another example, connecting with your emotions (even sad ones) is a way that you show love and kindness to yourself, which makes the world a better place.

So, it’s important to allow ourselves to experience bad days and to treat ourselves with kindness when we do. As such, I have drawn and illustrated some affirmations below that you can use when you are having a rough day.

I hope they help, Friend. You are loved.
